Created by Noah Hawley, the American science fiction horror series is a part of the hit Alien franchise and serves as a prequel to the original film Alien (1979). It is set in the year 2120, two years before the events of the original film.
Alien: Earth follows Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler), a synthetic human, aka a hybrid, secretly created with memories from her twin sister of CJ “Hermit” (played by Alex Lawther). She gets caught in a deadly conflict involving corporate greed, a crashed alien spacecraft and the powerful Xenomorph. Will she be able to fight her way through?
Talking about Alien: Earth in a recent interview with ThatShelf, showrunner Hawley shared, “My responsibility in bringing Alien to the small screen is really to try to create a vision of the future … the characters in the show are working through this question of what it means to be human, and can humanity survive its own sins and maybe brings some optimism to the world.”

About the Alien franchise
Alien is a science fiction horror and action media franchise that started with the 1979 movie of the same name. Directed by Ridley Scott and written by Dan O’Bannon, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction horror movies of all time. Additionally, the movie also won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 52nd Academy Awards in 1980.
The massive success of Alien eventually spawned a media franchise encompassing films, shows, books, video games and merchandise.
