PARTY Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Youth Chief Datuk Fairuz Renddan said the party’s youth wing is ready with its election machinery to face the coming 17th Sabah state election, which could be called at any time. He said the polls would be a crucial battleground as nearly 60 per cent of those who would decide Sabah’s direction comprised young voters.
“This figure cannot be taken lightly because these youths will be casting their ballots and making their choice. Our election machinery is already about 90 per cent prepared and organised across all levels in all 73 divisions throughout Sabah,” he said.
“The role of these young people is not merely to decide Sabah’s direction and future in terms of candidates, but more imYouthsportantly in shaping the course of leadership,” he said.

“The people can see the efforts of the GRS government. I want all youth members to continue working hard. Our focus is not on candidacy but on ensuring that the current government is retained.
“All youth members, especially at the grassroots level, must work with the mission of securing victory and supporting the leadership of our party president and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
“Do not question who will be the candidate or whether you will be chosen. That is for the party’s top leadership to decide. Our duty is to work hard as the party’s backbone, dedicating our efforts to the party and the State we love,” he said.
Fairuz added that Gagasan Rakyat Youth currently had about 90,000 members statewide.
“This is the machinery we will use for the state polls. We are now waiting for further instructions once the State Legislative Assembly is dissolved,” he said.
