Kota Kinabalu: Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob is prepared for a legal fight with Parti Warisan which is threatening to sue 11 of its assemblymen for breach of contract when they defected from the party.
“Let them do it. (It’s) Okay. This is a democracy,” he said when asked about Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s statement that they were going to sue all its assemblymen who quit the party after the Sept 26, 2020 snap Sabah election.
Dr Yusof, who is Qhazanah Sabah Chairman, said Warisan had already sued Sebatik Assemblyman Hassan Amir Gani but failed in its legal bid at the High Court.
“There is a precedent already. They have sued Sebatik (Assemblyman). They lost the case in court,” he said.
