SIPITANG: Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob should focus on being an elected representative rather than getting involved in the current political turmoil, a Parti Warisan (Warisan) leader said.
Warisan Supreme Council Member (AMT) Abdul Aziz Taip recalled Yusof’s move to leave Warisan on the excuse that it was for the people’s sake but failed to perform as expected by his constituents.
“The problems of floods, water supply, roads, unemployment and the issue of workers and residents of Sabah Forest Industries (SFI) failed to be resolved until now.
“Wasn’t Yusof a representative of the people in the government bloc? Where is his promise when he left Warisan to ensure the fate of the people’s interests continue to be defended and development continues?
“The actions of Yusof is akin to a tali barut (traitor), by being an agent to influence the Umno assemblyman (Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin) to support Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS),” he said in a statement, Sunday.
It was reported that Yusof had tried to advise Bung, who is also Umno Sabah Chairman, not to destabilise Sabah’s political situation.
