Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the possibility of winger Ryan Kent going on loan this summer.
The 22-year-old was impressive for Rangers last term, with the Scottish side hoping to renew that agreement.
However, the Reds are only thinking about a permanent departure for Kent.
Speaking about the winger's loan move last term, Klopp said to reporters: "It helped a lot. He came back a completely a different player.
"It was a very important year. It helped, good club, good manager and means good competition.
"Exactly the right thing for him at the right moment.
"But going back? (Only) If Rangers can buy him. The time is over giving him on loan.
"At a specific age, a player needs to find a place to settle and stuff like this. But we will see. A loan is not planned."
