Zack Steffen's future at Manchester City is in doubt.
City are in advanced talks to sign Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
USA international Steffen wants more first-team football next season to ensure he is first-choice for the World Cup in November, reports the Daily Mail.
There have also been doubts about the 27-year-old's future at City since his blunder contributed to a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final in April.
As such, a loan departure is likely for Steffen, with Ortega to arrive as a replacement and to act as cover for City No1 Ederson.
