PETALING JAYA: Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has expressed his willingness to defend the PKR Pandan parliamentary seat in the 16th General Election (GE16), should the party decide to nominate him.

Zafrul, who also serves as the Prime Minister’s Senior Political Adviser, said the decision on candidate selection ultimately rests with the party leadership.

“I am prepared to contest wherever I am given the opportunity, and the decision lies with the party,” he said during a press conference at the Korban Perdana Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Pandan event today.

He was responding to questions regarding the possibility of contesting the Pandan parliamentary seat following the departure of its former incumbent, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who left PKR on May 17.

Rafizi and former Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad recently announced their departure from PKR and subsequently took over Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama), a political party established in 2016.
