Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has claimed that the coalition is leading in 40 seats in the Johor state election.
He described the result as BN’s best electoral performance in four years.
Thanks Johor voters for their support
Speaking at a press conference at BN’s operations centre, Zahid congratulated the candidates who had secured victory and thanked Johor voters for supporting the coalition.
He said the results in Johor could mark the beginning of a “blue wave” for BN.
Next will be Negeri Sembilan and Melaka,” he said.
Zahid made the announcement alongside other BN leaders as vote counting continued.
The figures remain unofficial until confirmed by the Election Commission.
