Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday he discussed his country's possible accession to the European Union with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker.
"We expect the first cluster will be opened in June," Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
The accession negotiations process is divided into six thematic areas with a total of 32 sections, also known as clusters or chapters.
They can be opened and closed only by unanimous decisions by the member states.
"Austria supports opening the cluster under the clear performance-based principle. In that sense, it is also clear to us that there is no shortcut or fast lane on the way into the EU," Stocker's foreign policy spokeswoman said.
