Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had held another call with US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron on efforts to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
"It was an important coordination call that can bring about significant change," Zelensky wrote on X late on Wednesday, without providing further details.
"I am grateful to President Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his readiness to help bring peace closer," he added.
Zelensky met both Trump and Macron on the sidelines of the G7 summit in the French resort town of Évian, where the war in Ukraine was among the topics discussed.
The Ukrainian president arrived in Brussels late on Wednesday for a European Union summit scheduled for Thursday and Friday, and held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
Strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities and obtaining US licences for the production of air defence systems were among Kiev's priorities, Zelensky said on Telegram.
He also thanked Rutte for inviting him to a NATO summit in Ankara on July 7-8.
Russia has cited Ukraine's ambition to join NATO as one of the reasons for launching its invasion more than four years ago.
"We are working to strengthen Ukraine, our cooperation, and diplomatic prospects," Zelensky said. "We need peace. And we are doing everything to bring it closer."
NATO defence ministers were due to meet in Brussels on Thursday to prepare for the alliance's upcoming summit.
Pistorius and his British counterpart were due to co-chair a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group later in the day to coordinate further military assistance to Ukraine.
