Rangers legend Ally McCoist says Steven Gerrard isn't ready for the Liverpool job.
Liverpool legend Gerrard was tipped by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp earlier this week as his future replacement at Anfield.
"Well I think there's been a general consensus of opinion that that might be the case if things go well at Rangers," McCoist said on BT Sport.
I would have the audacity to say that I think there's perhaps still a little it of work to do at Rangers before he can think about taking the manager's job at Liverpool.
I think they're obviously in a fantastic position, I think Rangers started the season pretty well, outwith the defeat to Celtic in the league campaign, it's been a good start, some good European performances and domestically, as I said outwith the Celtic performance.
I think that's the obvious way that a lot of people would think Steven [would go]."
