Former Napoli star Gianfranco Zola admits he's shocked by the club's sudden slide this season.
Napoli are set to sack coach Rudi Garcia after the weekend's home defeat to Empoli.
Zola told TMW: "Honestly, I don't live the situation day by day to understand the real causes, what they did last year was extraordinary, we're talking about a fantastic team.
"Maybe it's a period of decline in performance, some players aren't performing like last year season and this may have had an impact.
"I expected a certain decline, but such a significant decline is a surprise to everyone. The hope is that there will be a reaction soon."
