KUALA LUMPUR – Recently sacked Umno veteran Tan Sri Annuar Musa has welcomed Parti Bangsa Malaysia leader Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin to his non-governmental organisation, Mufakat Nasional (MN).
Annuar posted photos of Zuraida’s visit on Facebook, stating that the former plantation and commodities minister had a meeting with him today to join his non-governmental organisation.
“Thank you Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin for coming to my office.
“Thank you for also joining MN,” he said in a brief post.
On Sunday, former Ketereh MP Annuar opened registrations for anyone to join MN a day after being sacked from Umno.
In early November, he announced himself as the president of MN, which he said had been successfully registered with the Registrar of Societies in September as a charity and welfare organisation.
MN was the name of the informal political pact that Umno and PAS formed after the 2018 general election, but the collaboration fizzled out when PAS opted to officially join Perikatan Nasional.
Annuar will be holding a press conference tomorrow to provide updates on MN, apart from explaining his sacking from Umno supposedly for tarnishing the party with his criticism of president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Former plantation industries and commodities minister Zuraida had failed to defend her seat in Ampang during the 15th general election.
The three-term Ampang MP suffered a crushing defeat after gaining only 4,589 votes, while PKR’s Rodziah Ismail emerged as the winner with 56,754 ballots. – The Vibes, December 14, 2022
