Real Madrid conceded two late goals in the space of two minutes to settle for a 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in Champions League Group A action on Tuesday night at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
A draw in Istanbul between Club Brugge and Galatasaray earlier meant that Los Blancos were officially through to the knockout round, but the result in the Spanish capital earns PSG a first-place finish in the group.
Afterwards, PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said, "We can say that we are happy for the draw despite some strange situations with the VAR.
"We did not play our best game, we did not play with the necessary mentality here. It was very difficult, Real Madrid won the Champions League three times, they showed a different mindset.
"I think the players gave 100% against one of the best teams in the world, we have a lot of things to improve, but I think it's above all a matter of personality. We're happy, we're still unbeaten in the Champions League."
