Grilled by Chinese expert on WWII apology, Japanese minister offers no straight answer

Whether the Japanese government is prepared to respond in an equally serious and unequivocal manner to China, South Korea and victim nations of Southeast Asia regarding the history of WWII, as the Japanese leader has already expressed condolence to Australian soldiers who lose their lives during the war, a member of the Chinese People's Liberation Army expert delegation asked Japanese Minister of Defense Shinjiro Koizumi at the Shangri-La Dialogue 2026 in Singapore. However, the Japanese minister failed to provide a straightforward answer.
