Kek Long Temple: Stunning Limestone Caves #TheGoodStuff

The Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple is a popular place for tourists to visit in Ipoh. The temple is situated on a large piece of land that covers 12 acres and has been a place of worship since as early as the 1920s. The cave is part of the limestone hills behind Gunung Rapat, about 5 km from Ipoh City. Inside the Kek Lok Tong complex is a central altar with various Buddhist statues and Chinese deities. The caves are unique because once you enter them, you'll also enjoy a beautiful garden view. The limestone hill comprises light grey to white crystalline Kinta limestone, with thin bands of argillaceous material measuring about 5mm to 1cm. You can still see traces of iron within the limestone. The temple also has an award-winning landscape garden with a jogging path around two lakes and one of the longest reflexology footpaths in Ipoh. If you ever visit Ipoh, visit this cave for an incredible experience. Video credit: R.S. Naidu
