A robot snake is patrolling 10-kilovolt power lines in Kunming, SW China.
Developed by the Kunming Power Supply Bureau of China Southern Power Grid, the snake-shaped robot can navigate obstacles autonomously and uses infrared, thermal imaging, and laser sensors to spot potential hazards.
It is now used for power-line inspections.
