Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island, also known as Wadjemup, is a popular tourist destination off the coast of Western Australia, near Perth. Famous for its friendly quokkas, the island offers beautiful beaches, clear turquoise waters, and excellent opportunities for swimming, snorkelling, cycling, and hiking. Visitors can explore attractions such as The Basin, Pinky Beach, and Wadjemup Lighthouse. The island is largely car-free, making bicycles and buses convenient ways to explore. Rottnest Island can be reached by ferry from Perth, Fremantle, or Hillarys, with travel times varying by departure point. A day trip is possible, although staying longer allows visitors to experience more of its natural beauty and history.
