Taiping Lake Gardens: Serene Garden with Overhanging Heritage Raintree #TheGoodStuff

I was smitten with the view of the huge Raintree hanging over the road and the branches touching (and growing?) into the lake. Taiping Lake Gardens is over a century old (created in 1880) and stretches 160 acres, consisting of numerous lakes, huge trees and pathways. This is an open garden, with no entrance fee, and one can just drive along the roads around this garden. There are tourists taking photos and selfies or just a nice tranquil stroll, with birds chirping up in the tress. For those who love activitives, there are boat rides and bicycles for rent. Locals, young and old love to come here in the morning and evening for exercises and walks. About 40 years ago, the lakes are full of lotus plants, so much so that one can just buy fresh lotus seeds from the morning market. Taiping Lake Gardens is a must-visit place for anyone going up north of Malaysia. Music: Last Train North, Track Tribe mp3 from Youtube Royalty free
