The Singapore Zoo: A Symphony of Paws and Wings

The Singapore Zoo, set amid the lush Upper Seletar Reservoir, spans 28 hectares and is renowned for its “open concept” design, where animals roam in spacious habitats separated by moats or glass instead of cages. Home to over 2,800 animals from more than 300 species, it features rare wildlife like white rhinos, proboscis monkeys, and giant river otters. Highlights include the Orangutan Exhibit, where these primates swing freely, and the Fragile Forest, a biodome with butterflies, lemurs, and tropical plants. Visitors can feed giraffes, enjoy animal presentations, or explore Rainforest Kidzworld for family fun. The zoo’s tram rides and walking trails take guests through African savannahs, tropical rainforests, and more, while its conservation programs inspire awareness about protecting biodiversity. It’s both an adventure and a lesson in caring for our planet’s wildlife.
