TEN Negeri Sembilan assemblymen were sworn in as state executive council (Exco) members on Friday, with the new state cabinet officially taking shape after last week’s state election.
The oath of office and allegiance was taken before Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at Istana Besar Seri Menanti.
Also present were Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz, Tunku Panglima Besar Negeri Sembilan Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin Tuanku Muhriz, as well as Undang Luak Sungei Ujong and Undang Luak Rembau.
The Exco line-up comprises eight Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen and two from Perikatan Nasional (PN).
The BN representatives are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli (Linggi), Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris (Chembong), Datuk Mustapha Nagoor (Palong), Datuk Mohd Asna Amin (Lenggeng), Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali (Sungai Lui), Siti Nur Umaira Hasim (Labu), Siow Kong Choon (Chennah) and Suhaimizan Bizar (Gemencheh).
The two PN assemblymen appointed as Exco members are Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa (Serting) and Datuk Razali Abu Samah (Sikamat).
Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, who took his oath of office last Sunday, was also present at the ceremony.
BN won 18 of the 36 state seats in the Negeri Sembilan election held last Saturday, while PN secured seven seats, allowing the two parties to form the state government. – August 7, 2026
