10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

The best bamboo sheets offer a silky feel, a cooler night’s sleep and a glossy, boutique-hotel finish. As a homes journalist, I test bedding and sleep products regularly, and bamboo is one of those categories where the details really matter. Some sets feel beautifully smooth but slide around on the bed; others wash well but lack that fluid drape you’re probably shopping for in the first place.

For this round-up of the best bamboo bedding, I focused on how each set performed beyond the first touch test. I slept in them, washed them, changed the covers and paid attention to elements like fitted sheet corners, duvet shifting, pillowcase fit and care labels.

I also compared pure bamboo viscose with bamboo-cotton blends, because the right choice depends on what you prefer: a cooler, silkier feel, or a slightly more structured fabric that stays put more easily. Bamboo bedding can be brilliant for warm sleepers, but it still needs to feel practical once laundry day rolls around, which is why I’ve put a range of sets to the test.

Belledorm bamboo bedding

Rating: 5/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: bamboo sheets overall

Why we love it

  • Soft yet substantial
  • Beautiful silky drape
  • Cooling sateen weave
  • Hand holes for easier changing

Take note

  • Limited colour range

Belledorm’s bamboo bedding hits the ideal spot between soft and substantial: silky against the skin thanks to a 300-thread count, breathable overnight and weighty enough to drape beautifully, rather than slip and slide around as some bamboo sheets tend to do.

In testing, it impressed for temperature regulation and wash performance, staying smooth and comfortable after washing at 40C in the machine.

This balances softness with substance (Ali Howard/The Independent)

The bamboo-cotton blend gives it a little more structure than pure bamboo, while still keeping that cool, smooth finish. Plus the hand holes at the top corners make changing the duvet cover noticeably less annoying, which is always a win.

I tested the platinum colourway, which has a soft silvery tone that looks polished on the bed while still feeling practical.

Dusk bamboo 300 thread count super soft cotton duvet cover

Rating: 4/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: budget bamboo sheets

Why we love it

  • Easy-care fabric with a smooth, breathable finish
  • Smart contrast trim elevates the look
  • Washes well

Take note

  • Pillowcases sold separately
  • No single size available

Dusk’s bamboo bedding is a good budget option if you want the smooth, breathable feel of bamboo with a slightly crisper cotton handle. In testing, it performed best for comfort and convenience, striking a nice balance between softness and structure. Plus, it washes well at 30C and dries without much drama, making it a good everyday option.

The 300 thread count fabric feels soft and cool against the skin, while the chocolate colourway brings out the natural sheen of the bamboo blend particularly well. I also liked the white border, which gives the darker shade a cleaner, more structured finish on the bed.

 (Ali Howard/The Independent)

It’s not pure bamboo, so it doesn’t have quite the same liquid drape as some 100 per cent bamboo sets, but for the price, it feels polished, comfortable and visually, something a little different.

Sold as separates, you’ll need to factor in buying pillowcases separately, which pushes the overall spend up slightly.

Sloth London bamboo bedding set

Rating: 5/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: moisture-wicking bamboo sheets

Why we love it

  • Soft, breathable fabric that regulates temperature well
  • Sustainable packaging and strong eco credentials

Take note

  • Requires delicate washing and careful handling when wet
  • No single size available

Sloth’s bamboo bedding set is made from 100 per cent bamboo rayon and is designed to deliver that soft, cool-on-contact feel that bamboo-converts know and love. Straight out of the packet, it was by far the most supple. In testing, it performed particularly well for breathability and moisture management, staying comfortable through warmer nights, while still feeling cosy once temperatures dipped.

This bedding offers high breathability (Ali Howard/The Independent)

The fabric arrives with a noticeable sheen that softens after a few washes, settling into a smoother, more relaxed finish over time. Antibacterial and hypoallergenic claims hold up in day-to-day use, with the sheets staying fresher between washes, compared with some other bedding options.

Thoughtful touches such as plastic-free delivery and a reusable bamboo drawstring bag add to its appeal, although the fabric does need gentle handling to keep it looking its best. I also loved the colour piping detail, which makes this set stand out on the design front.

Panda London signature+ bamboo lyocell complete bedding set

Rating: 4.5/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: bamboo sheets for softness

Why we love it

  • Exceptional softness and temperature control
  • Full set offers a coordinated, hotel-style feel

Take note

  • Premium price
  • Slightly higher maintenance than blended bamboo sets

Panda’s complete bamboo bedding set is made from 100 per cent bamboo lyocell, and it shows in the feel. In testing, this was one of the smoothest sets I slept on, with a fluid, satin-like finish that stayed cool through warm nights and felt cosy once temperatures dipped. It performed especially well for breathability and moisture management, making it a strong option for hot sleepers or those with sensitive skin.

This was one of the smoothest sets I slept on (Ali Howard/The Independent)

Compared with bamboo-cotton blends, this feels more luxurious and drapier, but it does demand a bit more care. The price firmly places it at the premium end, and the fabric can crease more easily if tumble dried, but for all-out softness, this one’s hard to beat.

Bambaw bamboo fitted sheet

Rating: 4.5/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: bamboo sheet for colour options

Why we love it

  • Secure deep fit that stays smooth all night
  • Excellent choice of colours compared with many bamboo sheets

Take note

  • Not a set (products sold separately)

Bambaw’s weightier-than-most fitted sheet is made from 100 per cent bamboo viscose, produced using Tanboocel technology – a manufacturing process that reuses resources to reduce waste – which turns bamboo into a soft textile fibre. In testing, it felt very comfortable and cooling. The fabric feels smooth and breathable from the first night, with moisture-wicking properties that suit hot sleepers and anyone who tends to overheat.

There’s a wide range of colours to choose from (Ali Howard/The Independent)

Bamboo’s hypoallergenic qualities come through clearly here, helping create a fresher sleep environment. The deep-pocket design and full 360-degree elastic give it a secure, hotel-style fit that stays put, even on deeper mattresses or those with toppers. Another standout perk is the wide range of colour options, making it easy to match existing bedding or switch things up seasonally.

Truly white bamboo bedding set

Rating: 4/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: practical bamboo sheets

Why we love it

  • Smooth, silky feel that works well for sensitive skin
  • Cooling properties suit year-round use

Take note

  • Fabric sheen is stronger straight out of the box and softens with washing
  • No single size available

Crafted from 100 per cent viscose derived from bamboo, this Truly bedding set is designed to deliver a silk-like feel without the matching price tag. The fabric feels smooth and fluid against the skin, with a naturally cool touch that suits warmer sleepers and anyone prone to night-time overheating.

Button fastenings keep the duvet neatly in place (Ali Howard/The Independent)

Bamboo’s antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties came through in everyday use, helping the bedding stay fresher between washes. Button fastenings keep the duvet neatly in place, while the smart housewife pillowcases add a classic finish. The sheen is more noticeable when new, and benefits from gentle washing to relax the fibres but, overall, this is a well-priced option for soft, breathable comfort.

BHS hotel collection bamboo bedding

Rating: 4/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: white bamboo sheets

Why we love it

  • Brilliant white finish
  • Delicate, silky feel
  • Washes well
  • Keeps its sheen

Take note

  • Fitted sheet and pillowcases not included
  • No single size available
  • No tumble drying

This BHS bamboo bedding has a really bright, brilliant white finish that gives the bed an instantly fresh look. The fabric feels delicate in the hand, with that soft, silky drape bamboo does so well. It held up better in the wash than expected, keeping its sheen and smoothness after laundering.

This is a simple, well made bedding set (Ali Howard/The Independent)

It’s a good option if you want simple white bamboo bedding with a light, breathable feel. Though the cold-wash and line-dry care instructions does mean it needs a little extra attention on laundry day.

The duvet cover and pillowcases are sold separately, but this helps keeps things flexible if you’re topping up an existing set.

Lost Loom bamboo bedding set

Rating: 4.5/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: luxury bamboo sheets

Why we love it

  • High thread count
  • Silky sateen weave
  • Anti-pilling treatment
  • Deep sheet option

Take note

  • Pricey

Lost Loom’s sheets are the best luxury bamboo bedding I’ve tested for the fabric alone: silky, fluid and cool against the skin, with a sateen weave that gives the bed a soft hotel-style sheen.

These sheets offer hotel level softness (Ali Howard/The Independent)

The 400 thread count is the big claim here, and in use it does feel properly premium, especially if you want bamboo bedding that drapes smoothly rather than sitting flat. The fitted sheet’s corner straps are a useful touch, helping it stay put, while inner duvet ties stop the cover shifting around.

It’s still a delicate fabric, so the 30C wash and low tumble-dry guidance are worth following.

Luff Sleep silverlining organic bamboo duvet set

Rating: 4/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: bamboo sheets for sensitive skin

Why we love it

  • Fresh-feeling fabric with genuine antibacterial benefits
  • Good balance of performance and price

Take note

  • Colour choice is limited
  • Size and shade availability varies

Luff Sleep’s bamboo lyocell duvet set stands out for its use of real silver (yes, you read that correctly) woven directly into the fibres – a feature designed to keep things fresher and more hygienic over time. In testing, the Luff bedding excelled for temperature control and next-morning freshness, and it works particularly well for hot sleepers and anyone prone to skin flare-ups.

Silver works as an antibacterial (Ali Howard/The Independent)

The fabric feels smooth and lightweight, with a cleaner, less glossy finish than other bamboo lyocell sheets, making it feel slightly more practical for year-round use. The antibacterial claims do hold up in daily use, with the 100-night trial offering plenty of time to see how it fits into your sleep routine. Overall, this is a reassuring mid-priced option.

Zleepy organic bamboo silk deep fitted bedsheet

Rating: 4/5

Image from: 10 best bamboo sheets for a cool and comfortable sleep, tried and tested

Best: fitted bamboo sheet

Why we love it

  • Noticeably cool feel and excellent breathability
  • Deep fit that stays secure through the night

Take note

  • No matching duvet cover or pillowcases available

This deep fitted sheet from Zleepy is made from 100 per cent bamboo lyocell and designed with hot sleepers in mind. In testing, it stood out for its cool-to-the-touch feel and secure fit, with the 40cm depth hugging the mattress properly and staying put overnight. The fabric starts with a light sheen but softens quickly after washing, settling into a smoother, more cotton-like finish.

This bedsheet is ideal for hot sleepers (Ali Howard/The Independent)

Zleepy’s cooling claims feel realistic in day-to-day use, particularly during warmer nights, and the sheet stayed comfortable without that clammy feeling some bamboo fabrics develop. While it’s just a fitted sheet rather than a full set, at this price, it offers a strong foundation for anyone prioritising temperature control.

What is the best bamboo sheet?

Belledorm’s bamboo bedding takes the top spot for its balance of comfort, structure and value. The bamboo-cotton blend feels silky against the skin but has enough weight to drape neatly, avoiding the slippery feel some bamboo bedding can have. The platinum colourway looks smart, the sateen weave feels cool overnight, and the hand holes make duvet-changing less of a faff.

For a more affordable option, Dusk’s bamboo-cotton bedding is a strong budget buy. It still gives you that smooth, breathable feel, while the on-trend colourways from chocolate brown to olive green make it look more considered than the price suggests.

If you’ve got sensitive skin and want to make the switch to softer bamboo sheets, I also loved Panda’s lyocell bedding set. It’s excellent at temperature regulating whether it’s hot or cold, and has a luxurious, smooth feel.

How I tested bamboo sheets

I slept on each set at home for multiple nights, then repeated key tests after washing to see how they held up over time. During the testing process, I considered the following criteria.
