A 21-year-old girl pursuing a lab technician course reportedly went missing in August 2025. The girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police the next day, claiming that their daughter was being held captive by Sandeep Yadav. The girl’s mother alleged that the police did not take the complaint seriously.

However, the police registered a case against Sandeep, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Giaspura, after 10 months, on Wednesday.

Sources said the suspect had been following the girl for a long time and was in love with her.

Victim’s mother Pratima Pandey said on August 17, 2025, her daughter went missing under mysterious circumstances. She urged the police to trace her daughter and safely bring her home.

No trace of minor girl missing since April

In another incident, a minor girl who went missing in April this year is yet to be traced.

The victim’s father, a resident of Daba, said in his complaint to the police that his daughter, Navjot Kaur (17), had left home on April 29 around 10:30 am, saying that she was going to a shop but the girl did not return home. Later, it was learnt that Jashan had lured his daughter away with the intention of marrying her. The police had initiated a probe into the incident.
