Kota Kinabalu: Sebanyak 10 sekolah di empat daerah di negeri ini terpaksa ditutup selepas dinaiki air banjir sejak petang Ahad.
Pengarah Pendidikan Negeri Sabah, Datuk Raisin Saidin berkata, penutupan sekolah itu melibatkan seramai 5,077 murid sekolah rendah dan pelajar sekolah menengah bersama 307 guru.
"Di Penampang, sebanyak enam sekolah yang terlibat iaitu Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sugut, Sekolah Menengah (SM) Saint (St) Michael, SK St Theresa Inobong, SK Kibabaig, SK St Joseph dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Yue Mi," katanya ketika dihubungi pada Isnin.
"Di Papar melibatkan SK Kelatuan dan di Sipitang melibatkan SJKC Sin Bon Sindumin. Dua lagi sekolah yang terjejas di Tuaran ialah SK Kauluan dan SJKC Chung Hwa Tenghilan."
