
TAMPARULI: Eleven people, including a 35-year-old man who was seriously injured, were hurt in a collision involving three four-wheel-drive vehicles and a Toyota Vios along Jalan Tamparuli-Ranau, near Kampung Minangkob, Saturday.
Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Chief Mohammad Nor Amit said a distress call was received at 1.33pm, prompting the dispatch of ten firefighters and officers to the scene, located about 35km away.
Upon arrival, rescuers found a male victim trapped in one of the vehicles with serious injuries. He was extricated using specialised road traffic accident equipment.
Ten other victims, ranging in age from six to 65 years old, sustained minor injuries and were transported to Tuaran Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters also conducted safety checks on all vehicles involved to eliminate any potential hazards.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The rescue operation concluded at 3.42pm.
