Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Islamic education sector received 131 local teachers to meet the shortage faced by the State as well as the suggested 90:10 ratio of local to peninsula staff.
Special Tasks Minister Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said the intended quota was 150 (teachers) but 19 pulled out last minute despite having passed their interviews.
“Even if the ratio was meant for schools under the Ministry of Education, the Sabah State Department of Islamic Religious Affairs (Jheains) which oversees the programme will emulate.
