Kota Kinabalu: The Ginger Cup 2.0 Pickleball Tournament concluded at Re.Play Karamunsing recently, drawing 144 teams across four competitive categories.
Alex Sii Leong Fui and Lau Chuan Peng clinched the Men’s Doubles title, while Han Hui Nee secured two crowns by winning the Women’s Doubles with Sitti Noorashikin Binti Basali and the Mixed Doubles alongside Jeremiah Tsen Siang Yie.
Kartini binti Sudin and Smith Robert won the Veterans Mixed Doubles 80+ category during the two-day event held from Aug 30-31.
Sanctioned by the Kota Kinabalu Pickleball Association, the tournament was co-organised by Re.Play Pickleball Club Karamunsing, with Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu as the official medical partner.
Tournament organisers said the strong turnout reflected the growing interest in pickleball locally, confirming plans to host a larger Ginger Cup 3.0 next year.
The prizes were presented to the winners by Senator Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe.
