Kota Kinabalu: Fifteen of Upko’s 47 Supreme Council members for the 2026–2029 term are new faces.
Party president Datuk Ewon Benedick said the combination of experienced and new leaders would strengthen the party and deliver better results for the people.
He was speaking at the Upko leadership pledge ceremony involving the Supreme Council and the Wanita, Youth and Young Generation (GEM) wings in Kota Kinabalu yesterday.
Ewon said the ceremony reminded leaders of their responsibilities, principles, and commitment to the party’s struggle.
Ewon leads the ninth-term leadership with Datuk Donald P. Mojuntin as deputy president and Senator Datuk Nelson W. Angang as secretary-general.
