SANDAKAN: An air disaster drill, crucial for emergency preparedness, was conducted near Sandakan Airport on Thursday.
The exercise, codenamed Ex Buazo 2024, was a collaborative effort between Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) and Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd (MASB).
The event began with a preliminary session at Sri Libaran Multipurpose Hall on Wednesday, followed by the full-scale drill near Kampung Sungai Obar.
MPS President Henry Idol emphasised the importance of such drills in ensuring rapid response from all relevant agencies during actual incidents.
