
A 19-year-old ITI student was stabbed to death at the Kurana village bus stand in Panipat on Thursday. After receiving information, the Madlauda police reached the spot to investigate.
The assailant, reportedly from the same village, fled after committing the crime. The deceased has been identified as Tanishk from Kurana village in the district.
According to available information, the deceased was studying at an ITI in Naultha village. Tanishk was standing at the village bus stand on Thursday when Vijay, along with two or three associates, arrived and allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the spot. Tanishk collapsed in a pool of blood. Locals gathered at the scene and informed the police.
After being informed, the Madlauda police reached the spot and sent the body to the mortuary at the Civil Hospital for the postmortem examination. A probe into the matter has begun.
The assailant attacked Tanishk so brutally that he died on the spot. Primarily, old disputes between them are suspected to be a major reason behind the murder. Tanishk was the only son in the family.SI Rajesh, SHO Madlauda, said that a case has been registered against the accused, Vijay, and two or three others under sections related to murder.
The body was handed over to the victim’s family after the postmortem examination, he said.
“Prima facie, no concrete or serious enmity has come to the fore between them so far, but some altercation had occurred between them,” he said. However, the actual reason behind the murder will be known only after the arrest of the accused, he added.
Police teams are on the job to nab the accused, the SHO said.
