More than 40 school children had a narrow escape after their school bus overturned in Aligarh on Thursday, officials said.
According to district authorities, the accident occurred in a village under the Gangiri Police Station area when one of the wheels of the bus rolled over a large heap of cow dung stacked along the roadside, causing the vehicle to lose balance and overturn.
Additional District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar said around 10 children sustained minor injuries in the incident. They were administered first aid and later sent home with their parents, he said.
Officials said the bus belonged to Vintage Convent School.
All documents related to the school bus were found to be in order during inspection, they said.
