2 Lian athletes win multiple medals from Palarong Pambansa

LIAN, Batangas — The local government of Lian extended its greetings to two of its representatives at the 2026 Palarong Pambansa held in Agusan del Sur from May 24 to 31.

Representing the province of Batangas in the field of swimming, Andrei Masipag of Barangay Kapito brought home five medals from the annual games for student athletes..

"Matapang howed his skills, dedication and strength of a Lianeño heart in the national stage,” the local government said.

He won a silver medal in 200-meter butterfly; 100-meter butterfly; 50-meter butterfly and 4x100 medley relay; as well as the bronze medal in the 4x50 medley relay.

“Your five medals are not only a personal achievement but an honor that the entire town of Lian is proud of,” it added.

Another athlete, table tennis player Abdiel Seraph Hipolito of Barangay Bungahan, bagged the silver medal in the elementary boys team event and a bronze medal for doubles elementary boys.

The Palarong Pambansa is an annual multi-sport event which involves the best student-athletes from the different regions of the country.
