SANDAKAN: About 20,000 people attended the Sandakan Justice for Zara Vigil 2.0 organised by the Zara Solidarity Secretariat at the town field on Sunday.
Despite the evening rain, many participants stayed on to show their support and solidarity.
The crowd included not only Sandakan residents but also people from Beluran, Kinabatangan, Telupid and Lahad Datu.
Around 200 cars and motorcycles joined a convoy to the programme, which local organisations supported.
Spokesperson Saddam Hussin Kussin thanked all attendees, 12 NGOs, and the police and municipal council for ensuring the smooth running of the event, saying their shared purpose was to seek justice.
