2026 PVL On Tour opens in Isabela

THE Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour opens its first stop in Ilagan City, Isabela, with a pair of exciting preseason matches on Wednesday.

The action begins at 4 p.m. with the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles taking on the Akari Chargers, before league powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers battle the Nxled Chameleons at 6:30 p.m.

“The PVL On Tour is our way, together with the teams, of bringing the game closer to our fans during the preseason. It allows supporters from different parts of the country to experience PVL volleyball firsthand, while giving our teams valuable opportunities to build chemistry and prepare for the season ahead,” said PVL Control Committee chairman Sherwin Malonzo.

Creamline will parade its championship core bannered by Alyssa Valdez, Jia De Guzman, Bea De Leon, and Michele Gumabao. Also making her much-awaited debut is 2026 rookie draftee Jimy Jean Jamili of Adamson University.

The Cool Smashers also bolstered their lineup with former Cignal Super Spikers Rochelle Lalongisip and Erin May Pangilinan.

Nxled, meanwhile, will counter with a formidable roster led by Brooke Van Sickle, Myla Pablo, and EJ Laure, alongside former Cignal standouts Gel Cayuna and Jacqueline Acuña.

While Creamline banks on its proven championship experience, the Chameleons hope their revamped roster can pull off an upset against one of the league’s perennial contenders.

Creamline finished third in the 2025 PVL On Tour, while Nxled placed fifth.

In the opening match, ZUS Coffee will rely on veterans Rachel Daquis, Alyssa Eroa, and Jovelyn Gonzaga, with Thea Gagate and Princess Robles expected to provide firepower against Akari.

The Chargers, on the other hand, will be led by setter Mars Alba, with Ivy Lacsina, Fifi Sharma, and Grethcel Soltones anchoring the team’s offense.

To raise the stakes during the preseason tournament, each winning team in the PVL On Tour Showdown will receive P100,000, while the losing squad will still pocket P50,000, ensuring every match remains highly competitive.
