Arif had filed the false report at the Kota Setar police station on January 6th, claiming that he was cornered by three armed men at a shopping mall who demanded RM150 for parking. However, police investigations uncovered that the report was fabricated to conceal the truth from his parents, as Arif had paid RM270 to an individual for hiring a prostitute through a mobile application.

The charge against Arif falls under Section 182 of the Penal Code, carrying a maximum penalty of six months' imprisonment and a fine of up to RM2,000 upon conviction.
