
In a heartwarming celebration of friendship, nostalgia and professional achievements, the alumni of the 1974-1976 batch of the College of Agriculture at CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, reunited at the College of Basic Sciences to mark the golden jubilee of their association with the prestigious institution.
Nearly five decades after taking admission to the university, around 25 alumni came together to relive cherished memories and celebrate the enduring bond they shared as students. The reunion was marked by warmth, pride, gratitude and emotional moments as the former students revisited the campus that had shaped their careers and lives.
The gathering brought together several distinguished personalities, who had made significant contributions to the fields of agriculture, forestry, education, administration, banking and public service. Among the prominent alumni present were Dr Ajay Sharma, a distinguished Indian Forest Service officer who had also served at the Forest Research Institute and later as the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Public Service Commission. Eminent academicians such as Ashok Kumar Sarial, Ashok Sharma and Dinesh Badyala were also present.
Several retired senior officers from the agriculture, horticulture, forestry, banking and allied sectors also attended the function and shared the memories of their student life, hostel experiences, practical training, and invaluable guidance provided by teachers.
A special highlight of the occasion was the presence of Rajan Katoch, who warmly welcomed the alumni and appreciated their remarkable contributions to society and their professions. He also highlighted recent academic and research achievements of the university.
The reunion concluded with warm interactions, group photographs and a renewed commitment by the alumni to remain connected.
