
With the summer vacation underway, children are enjoying their break, but the government schools remain open to upgrade basic amenities and infrastructure for students.
While the renovation work is underway at 35 government schools in five blocks in the district, the Education Department has directed officials to complete the makeover during the vacation.
As per information, Education Department Director has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) and District Elementary Education Officers (DEEOs) to complete minor repairs, upgrade basic infrastructure and strengthen academic facilities in the schools.
The Director has also told the district officers to ensure smooth functioning of digital boards in schools under their blocks. The digital boards should not be switched off during school hours and must be used regularly for teaching. The district officers have also been asked to ensure a proper use of laboratory equipment.
The school heads have been directed to prepare detailed layout plans of respective institutions, so that infrastructure-related activities can be implemented in a systematic manner in future.
Apart from it, the schools heads have been told to identify sites for future plantation activities with the help of Eco Clubs.
Manish Gupta, District Project Coordinator (DPC) said construction of a hostel building at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Jalmana, at a cost of Rs 174.17 lakh is underway. The construction of a Block Resource Centre (BRC) building in Sanoli Khurd at a cost of Rs 70.89 lakh is nearing completion, Gupta added.
He said other works being carried out in different schools include construction of eight classrooms and repair work at Government High School, Barana; construction of science laboratories at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Jalalpur-1, Kurar, Goela Kalan and Dadhola; and construction of labs and one classroom at GSSS, Chhajpur Kala, at a cost of Rs 126.54 lakh.
Other projects, including construction of four classrooms at PM Shri GSSS, Pawati, laying of interlocking pathway at GSSS, Naraina; construction of 16 classrooms and one art room at GSSS, Ujha; construction of three classrooms and one bio lab at PM Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Urlana Kalan, construction of three classrooms at GSSS, Pasina Khurd; construction of six classrooms at GHS, Noorwala; construction of five classrooms, one IT lab, principal room, staff room at Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Chulkana in Samalkha block; and construction of girls’ toilets at GSSS, Sewah and Bapoli, are also underway.
