A programme was organised at the Government Primary Smart School, Preet Nagar, by Delhi-based NGO — Uprise Together Foundation — under its “Khushian Da Basta (bag of happiness)” campaign.

During the programme, school bags were distributed among 350 students studying from Nursery to Class V. The initiative aimed at supporting students from economically weaker backgrounds and promoting education.

Foundation director Raminder Singh Sachdeva said the organisation was working to ensure that needy students receive basic educational support such as school bags. He said financial limitations should not affect a child’s education.

The programme was attended by Charan Singh and foundation member Gurpreet Singh, who interacted with students. School in-charge Parveen Kumar welcomed the guests and appreciated the contribution of the NGO towards student welfare.

Representatives from the Blind Ashram at Hariana, including Baba Balbir Singh, Atma Singh and Onkar Singh Khalsa, were also present on the occasion.

Among others present were retired General Jasvir Singh Dhillon (retd), Prof Bahadur Singh Sunet, Principal Rachna Kaur (retd), Lecturer Neeraj Dhiman (retd) and Colonel Raghuvir Singh (retd). School management committee members, local residents and school staff also attended the programme.
