The body of a 37-year-old Malaysian woman was found near a river in Pahang on February 12 after she went to complete a cash-on-delivery (COD) food drop-off.
Kuantan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu, said in a statement that they received a call from a man through the District Control Center (DCC), saying he had found the body.

There were signs of foul play
After the report, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division (IPD Kuantan), along with the Forensic Unit from Pahang Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) and forensic experts from Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan Kuantan (HTAA), carried out an investigation at the scene.
“On February 13, 2025, around 12:45 PM, Kuantan police got a call from a Malay man saying he had found a woman’s body by the riverside near Tanjung Lumpur, Kuantan, Pahang,” Mohd Zahari said.
Further investigation revealed signs of foul play on the victim’s body.

The public is urged not to speculate on the case
The victim was a food vendor living in the Kuantan district. Witnesses said she went to the location on February 12 around 7:30 PM for a COD food drop-off.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The police urge the public not to speculate on this case, as it may disrupt the investigation. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
