
Kota Kinabalu: Luyang Assemblyman Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe will host the Ginger Cup 3x3 Basketball Carnival at Luyang Community Hall on June 22-23.
Phoong, who is also the State Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, said the two-day tournament is co-organised by the Kota Kinabalu Basketball Association and New Dimension.
The competition is divided into an open category and an Under-18 category.
The open category champions will win RM5,000, the runners-up RM3,000 and the third placed team RM1,000 while the champions of the Under-18 category will pocket

“We are hoping to attract more young people to join this tournament. This is a fantastic opportunity for basketball enthusiasts to showcase their skills.
“The closing ceremony will have a special guest, DJ Suicide J.
“The tournament is accepting registrations from now until June 16 at 11pm,” he said at a press conference, Monday.
Each team consists of four players, and the registration fee is RM320 per team, including two jerseys and RM20 cash coupons.
