
Four members of Goldy Brar gang have been arrested by the joint teams of the Jalandhar police and CIA Staff. The four men had been carrying out criminal activities, including murders and extortions in the region on the directions of Goldy Brar. The accused have multiple previous cases against them.
The four men arrested have been identified as Sukhwant Singh Sekhon, alias Sukha, resident of village Dheerpur in Jalandhar; Jugraj Singh resident of Dheerpur in Jalandhar; Gupreet Singh, resident of Mallian Lohian in Jalandhar and Neeraj resident of Bazigar Mohalla, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar.
The police recovered eight illegal pistols and 45 live rounds from their possession.
The accused were nabbed in an operation carried out under CP Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur, DCP Investigation Manpreet Singh Dhillon, ADCP investigation Jayant Puri, ADCP D Amarbir Singh, by Inspector Surinder Kumar, Incharge CIA Staff, Jalandhar.
A patrol team of the CIA Staff Jalandhar, near the cremation ground at Cantt Road, Jalandhar, received a tip off regarding the presence of four men travelling in a silver Swift car, carrying arms and ammunition and planning to carry out criminal activity. A case was registered under Sections 25(1) and B-54-59 of the Arms Act at the police station number 7 in Jalandhar.
Police said accused Sukhwant Singh had 10 former cases against him, while Jugaraj Singh and Gurpreet Singh had four previous cases against them each.
During questioning by the police, Sukhwant Singh Sekhon, 28, told police that he was BA qualified. Sekhon along with his three associates, had been carrying out murders, firings and extortion bids in various districts of the state under the directions of Goldy Brar. Police said that the trio will be presented in court and their remand will be obtained for further probe in the case.
