Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD), in collaboration with Petron and several private organisations, distributed approximately 400 meal packs to the public for breaking fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution event took place at Petron Jalan Lintas as part of Petron’s ongoing initiative across Sabah to foster stronger ties between the organisation, the community, and law enforcement.
District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Kasim Muda emphasised the importance of road safety, especially during the festive season.
“We remind all road users to drive carefully, as traffic congestion is increasing. Our priority is for everyone to reach home safely to celebrate with their families,” He said on Tuesday.
Kasim also said they started distributing forms in hotspot areas to monitor road users returning to their hometowns.
Additionally, he encouraged the public to use the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) APP system and the police’s Quick Response (QR) code system for better assistance and monitoring.
The initiative was part of IPDKK’s commitment to community engagement. It involved working alongside corporate sponsors and NGOs to spread the spirit of Ramadan through charitable efforts.
