The three-day India Sports Goods Expo (ISGE) began on Thursday on the campus of Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. The expo has brought together leading sports good retailers and wholesalers from across the country.

At least 4,000 retailers and wholesalers are expected to participate in the fourth edition of the exhibition, which has emerged as one of the biggest platforms for the sports goods industry. Organisers said major brands from Jalandhar and Meerut, two prominent hubs of sports manufacturing in India, are showcasing their latest products and innovations at the event.

The exhibition features a wide range of sports equipment related to football, athletics, gymnastics and several other disciplines. Visitors explored numerous stalls displaying modern sporting gear, training accessories and fitness products.

Speaking on the occasion, ISGE Chairman Sanjay Kohli said buyers from countries including South Africa, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Canada and Dubai had arrived to attend the expo. He said the exhibition had become an important international business platform for the city and provides local manufacturers opportunities to expand their reach in global markets.

“It is a big thing for our city that an exhibition of this level is organised every year,” he said.

The opening day witnessed enthusiastic participation from traders, business delegates and visitors, many of whom appreciated the arrangements of multiple reputed brands under one roof. Participants described the expo as a valuable networking and business opportunity for the rapidly growing sports goods sector.
