HONG KONG - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 jolted 61 km NNE of Makubetsu, Japan at 01:59:45 GMT on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.

According to Xinhua, the epicentre, with a depth of 321.62 km, was initially determined to be at 45.8814 degrees north latitude and 142.1251 degrees east longitude. - Bernama
