A total of 38,071 inspections under Ops Tiris 4.0 led to 506 cases and 147 arrests nationwide since March 16.
SANDAKAN: A total of 38,071 inspections has been carried out under Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) since March 16, 2026, with 506 cases recorded and 147 people arrested nationwide as of yesterday.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said diesel and petrol misappropriation accounted for the bulk of the cases.
“(The cases comprise) diesel (228), petrol (105), liquefied petroleum gas (64), cooking oil (57), sugar (35) and wheat flour (16).
“In Sabah, for example, 6,108 inspections were carried out, with 132 cases recorded. Of these, diesel misuse accounted for the highest number at 48 cases, followed by petrol at 37 cases,” he said.
He told reporters this at the Sentuhan Kasih Programme and MADANI Rahmah Sale held at the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) parking area here today, which was also attended by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Armizan said Ops Tiris involves a range of enforcement agencies, including the police and MMEA.
Meanwhile, he said Hajiji was briefed today on the current status of Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated), with the focus on enforcement findings and monitoring reports from the agencies involved, including the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM).
Two Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) special task forces were set up for Sarawak, Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
