SANDAKAN: 38,071 inspections under Ops Tiris 4.0 from March 16 to May 4 led to 506 cases and 147 arrests nationwide, with diesel and petrol smuggling topping the list, said Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali.
In Sabah, 6,108 inspections recorded 132 cases, mainly involving diesel and petrol.
Chief Minister Hajiji Noor attended the briefing here and received updates on the operation, which involves multiple enforcement agencies.
Authorities have also expanded the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS) to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, with registrations opening May 4 to curb leakages and smuggling.
