Kota Kinabalu: A total of 54 primary students participated in the Sabah Schools Sports Council Kota Kinabalu District Golf Under-12 tournament held at Kinabalu Golf Club here on Tuesday.
The one-day competition was organised by the Kota Kinabalu district education office and hosted by SM La Salle.
Mohd Danish Danial Jumat from SK Api Api was the winner in the boys’ Under-12 category with Muhd Dani Mikail Jimsbon (SK Inanam) and Aliff Aryan Sabli (SK Api Api) in second and third place.
The boys’ Under-9 title was won by Irsyahabuddin Akmadin (SK Inanam) followed by Malden Noah Harun (SRK St Agnes) and Dawson Lee (SJKC Shan Tao).
In the girls’ Under-12 category, Chaeeun (Kinabalu International School) was the winner ahead of Abbygail Arianna Ahmad Azuwaniza (Sk St Francis Convent), Nur Allyssa Sofea Razali (SK Melawa) and Khloe Divine Yong (SJKC Chung Hwa Likas) in joint third. The Under-9 title went to Dahyeon Yu (Kinabalu International School) with Thania Tamira Rao (SK St Francis Convent) in second place and Annerly Chong Yu Fei (SJKC Shan Tao) in third.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Kota Kinabalu district deputy education officer Bunsu Gaga who also gave away the prizes.
