Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says that transfer talk is out of his control.

Spurs have signed Tanguy Ndombele as their most high profile incoming this window, and are trying to complete deals for Giovanni Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.

And Pochettino believes that given Spurs have a transfer committee and chairman Daniel Levy makes the final call, he should not be the one who faces scrutiny for a lack of incomings.

"To say I was very successful with signings is not true," Pochettino told a press conference.

"The club always signs players not Mauricio. Of course, in that structure, sometimes you have a more important part in [giving] your opinion to the club, sometimes not.

"Sometimes some players who sign are very successful and we share [the credit], and when they fail, we accuse the manager [and] I am responsible.

"I told you before in my previous press conference, I'm going to be happy with the squad we have to work at the end of the transfer window.

"I'm not focused on that. I'm focussed on helping the team and the players to improve their performances and get the result that we want.

"The next goal for next season is first of all to see how our squad is going to be and then to settle our goals."
