KANGAR: Six Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) lecturers have been featured among the world’s top 2% of scientists by US-based Stanford University.
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also UniMAP chancellor, said the six lecturers are professors Subash Chandra Bose Gopinath, Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah, Uda Hashim, Azwan Iskandar Azmi, Liew Yun Ming and Voon Chun Hong.
“The list honours those who have successfully produced a substantial number of citations across multiple disciplines, in addition to being recognised on the ‘Career-long and Single Year Citation Impact’ list,” Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said in a statement.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin added that the recognition demonstrates UniMAP’s exceptional performance in scientific research, which has enhanced not only the reputation of the university but also the country.
“This achievement proves that UniMAP’s teaching staff and academic standards are on par with the world’s best universities,” he said.
