6 UniMAP lecturers ranked among world’s top 2% of scientists by Stanford

SIX Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) lecturers have been featured among the world’s “top 2% scientists” by the US-based Stanford University.

Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also UniMAP chancellor, said the six lecturers were Prof Subash Chandra Bose Gopinath, Prof Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah, Prof Uda Hashim, Assoc Prof Azwan Iskandar Azmi, Assoc Prof Liew Yun Ming, and Assoc Prof Voon Chun Hong.

“The World’s ‘Top 2% Scientists’ list honours those who have successfully produced a substantial number of citations across multiple disciplines, in addition to being recognised on the ‘Career-long & Single Year Citation Impact’ list,” Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said in a statement today.

The Raja Muda of Perlis’ message was displayed on a giant screen in conjunction with the sixth session of UniMAP’s 18th Convocation at Dewan Ilmu, UniMAP’s Alam Pauh Putra Campus in Arau, yesterday.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin added that the recognition demonstrates UniMAP’s exceptional performance in scientific research, which has not only enhanced the reputation of the university but also the country.

“This achievement proves that UniMAP’s teaching staff and academic standards are on par with those of the world’s best universities,” he said. – Bernama, November 21, 2023
